Safari blue is owned and personally managed by Eleanor Griplas together with her staff of, give or take, 90 Zanzibaris. Eleanor believes in creating worthwhile, sustainable employment and training. Many of the Safari Blue team from Fumba village have worked with her since the late nineties and were previously subsistence fishermen.
Safari Blue also assists with projects in the local and wider community such as:
• Supporting the local nursery school in Fumba
• Outings for school children, patients from the Mental Hospital
• Sponsorship of students at High school and University
• Infrastructure improvements in Fumba
• Construction and maintenance of a mosque on Kwale Island |
